Fideos                                                                                                                  Serves 3-4
1 lb. ground beef
2 t. comino
3 cloves garlicFideos uncooked
¼ c. oil
½ lb. fideos (see photo of uncooked fideos, right)
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
4½ c. hot water
Salt and pepper to taste

Ground spices in molcajeteBrown ground beef in skillet and drain. Grind comino and garlic in molcajete; add ¼ c. of the water to loosen. In deep pan, brown fideos in oil. Add spices, tomato sauce and remaining water; mix well. Add in ground beef and simmer until fideos are done, approximately 30 minutes.
